Easy Bake

Remember the Easy Bake Oven? Victoria got one for x-mas last year and is just now interested in it. So this weekend she made her first yummy cake and icing! Very scary to think that this all bakes with a light bulb!

Virgin Hair

See the proof...I really did do it!
I wouldn't normally post a picture of me getting my hair done! However...this was a special moment. This is the first time I have ever colored my hair in the whole 31 years of my time on this earth. It was so exciting for me! I went in to get highlights. Well when it came out.....I didn't even notice. The lady said she just wanted it to be very subtle! We it worked cuz I couldn't even notice. Oh well.....Heres to next time!
The finished product....Can you tell? I can't!

Funny Dog

Look at this haircut on our cute little Maltese! She is NOT happy. She has the worse matting on her butt so the groomer had to shave it. I asked her not to shave her whole body. So she did her best and trying to make her have a cute cut! The jury is not out on how cute this is........but we are thinking....Um...not again!

ODU Performance

Victoria and her cheer team...THE KITTENS...got to perform at the half time for the ODU basketball game on Thursday night. They did such a great job. She is really enjoying cheer. Their little outfits are being screen printed to say VA Wild this week. She has another competition in March and I will post some more pictures of that. I took some pictures but am having trouble getting them off my camera. The video I got from another momma is just the last 15 seconds of the performance. This is the little dance part that they do and they only learned it in the past 2 weeks. So like 3 hours! Way TO Go! I am such a proud momma!

Victoria Audition Update

Victoria DID get a call back from the company that wanted to market her. On Sat we took her to audition with Barbie. She did such a good job. She had to stand up in front of a room full of strangers and talk. She had to sing and do a commercial. She even did her dance from her dance recital. She also had to walk as if she were a model on a runway. She just did great and Vic and I were so proud of her. She really wanted to meet Barbie and we had to explain that Barbie wasn't there. But if she got the part then she would be able to take pictures with her. Oh..Ok..she says and we left. Well Sunday night we got called back to the office with the Barbie Agents and they did ask Victoria if they could use her photos for Barbie. Of course we thought that was pretty cool and are very proud of Victoria for doing such a great job. However, they asked us for her portfolio photos and we had no idea what they were talking about. Apparently before Barbie (or any other agency) can use her she has to submit her photos. So Vic and I discussed it and discussed it with Victoria and we are not sure we are going to pursue this. Not because we don't want to pay to get her pictures taken but because she is so young and so impressionable.....we just aren't sure this is the path we want to take her in right now. We just don't have complete peace about it so we let the Barbie people know we weren't interested at this time. Her marketing agent did tell us that if anything else were to come her way that she think would be right for Victoria she would let us know. But for now. We are just going to let her be little, do her dancing, swim and cheer and save the acting and photography for later when she can really grasp if that is what she wants. Thanks for all your prayers and support and questions. It was exciting for a minute but in the long run......who knows?

Vic in AZ

Hey Family and Friends in the great state of Arizona! Vic is in town. He was in San Diego for business but got a few days off. So...he dropped into AZ today to try and see some peeps. He will be there thru Monday so give him a shout. Also..please come out and support Vic at the Rock N Roll Marathon on Sunday. He just got in, in the nick of time and is so excited to be running it. Victoria and I are sad as this will be his first run that we won't be there. So please go out and support him. WE miss you all! Hugs!!

Jane's surgery

I just wanted to give you an update on mom and her surgery. We got to the hospital around noon on Friday. The procedure was scheduled for 2:30 but they actually didn't get her in until around 5:00. She was in great spirits and not to worried. The surgery itself only took about an hour but she was in recovery for a few hours. She did great. The doctor trimmed up her torn meniscus and then had to scrap off the arthritis she had attached to the cartilage under her knee cap. This is what has been causing her so much pain. Then he had to poke holes in the cartilage to let blood thru to start the process of growing back new cartilage. The doctor originally thought it was only a torn meniscus and that would take about 2 weeks of healing. But it turned out to be the arthritis too so her recovery is going to be a bit longer. She is definitely going to be on crutches for 6 weeks. Those are fun! She is not allowed to put any pressure down on the foot. She is supposed to act as if there was an egg under her foot at all times. A machine was delivered to the house yesterday which acts as a therapist for her. She puts her leg in this devices that moves it back and forth (very slowly) 3x per day for 2 hours at a time. This isn't her favorite thing thus far. She is doing great on the crutches. She pretty much moves from the couch, to the floor for her machine, to the potty and back to the couch. She may try and scoot up the stairs to her bedroom later this week. She will go to the doctor on the 13th to re-evaluate her therapy. He will at that point let her know when she will be able to go back to work. He told me he thought she would be off 2 to 3 weeks. I attached a few cute pictures of her in the surgery room and at home using her machine. Thanks for your prayers and concerns.

Happy 2009

Hello and Happy New Year! Can you believe its 2009 already? The older I get the more I understand what everyone meant by....Time Flies. We rang in the New Year are our friends party. We had a great time. We watched the ball drop, watched the kids with the noise makers and confetti and of course had a few yummy cocktails. Today we are watching all the college games. Go USC! ASU and Uof A are our obvious teams of choice but for this year...we are cheeting on USC. I made some bean soup with our ham bone left over and were munching on sausage dip wearing nothing but jammies. We love lazy days! I hope you all had a wonderful New Years celebration. Happy 2009!
