Camping May 2009

Victoria and I joined friends for a weekend camping trip. It was a blast. I am used to camping in the mountains and it seemed a bit silly to camping at a camp ground. But it was Victoria's first camping trip so I figured it would be a great and safe opportunity. Boy was I right. It was full of fun. We went swiming, putt putt, dancing, a trolley to the ocean front, cooking out, Bingo, hayrides and 5 different playgrounds to choose from. I felt like I was in the Movie dirty Dancing with all the fun they provided. The only thing missing was Vic....but he will join us next time. :)

Joyce Meyer In Hampton

Joyce Meyer came to Hampton to speak in March. My mom is one of Joyce's biggest fan. Joyce Meyer is an amazing evangelist and her following is just enormous. She was here for 3 days and we made it to most of the sessions. When she travels to different towns to speak it is all recorded for her television shows so it will be fun to watch TV and look for when she was here in VA. Darlene Czech from Hillsong church in Australia was along with Joyce for the Praise and Worship. She is awesome! The neat thing about that is our church here in VA (Wave) was actually started from one of the pastors at Hillsong Church. Darlene is a big part of our church and it was neat seeing her her with Joyce Meyer and then at Wave on Sunday. One of my besties Gwen got to come with mom and I so it made for a really fun time. A girls time with lots of chat. Amen Sister!

Strawberry Fest in Pungo

There is a quaint little town here in Virginia Beach called Pungo. Pungo is known for their vast amout of strawberry picking farms. Every year the town of Pungo puts on a Strawberry Festival. All of the Hampton Roads area comes out to celebrate and support the town. The strawberry Festival starts out with a parade featuring some of Virginia's local high school bands, girl scouts, fire departments and of course the Navy. There are also rows upon rows of booths with fun little crafts for sell, face painting for the kids, funnel cake and everything you can possible think of made from strawberries. We had a really fun day. It was neat running into friends of ours from church. And we also got to meet up with my girlfriends Casey and Tiffany for a bit. Victoria's favorite part was riding all the "big girl" carnival rides. Karen and Sophie came over the night before for a slumber party so that made the whole event even more exciting! Anytime Victoria has her BFF with her...its a good day!

Mothers Day 2009

We all had a great time. Mom and I worked in the 3's at the 9am service at Wave. Then we worked in the 2's at the 11am service. It was a blessing for us to be able to work so that other moms could enjoy their morning. After church Vic took us to to eat at Texas Roadhouse. I love that place. They have the best steak and hot rolls. Then we all went and saw the movie 17 again. The reason we choose that movie was so that Victoria could go. It was cute. Here are some pictures of us Momma's opening our gifts.

Busch Gardens

Our friends The Laymans were back in VA Bch for a visit. They recently moved to Colorado and just love it there! Another perk of Navy life...getting to explore! Vic and Mike used to serve on the USS Elrod together back about 9 years ago. Niki and I meant then and became great friends. Niki and I had some growing pains in our relationship but have gotten past them. So we are very glad that they made time away from their family to hang with us. We all meant up at Busch Gardens. Their son Ethan is the same age as Victoria and she just loves him. She told us that she was going to marry him. They have a little girl named Kaeli who we hadn't had a chance to meet yet. She was just as cute as can be! Busch Gardens had alot of fun to offer the kiddo's and us adults. I was surprised at the amount of rides for kids and how clean the park was. Our day at the park ended with a rain shower. It was a blast running thru the park and out to try to find our car drench in the rain. We haven't done that in years. We decided after a day with the kiddos we needed a parents night out. So we dropped the kids with the parents and all went to Captain Georges for all you can eat fish buffet! It was such a fun time catching up and talking about the Good Ole Day's.
