Girls Craft Balls

Every month my girlfriends and I get together for a girls night. Sept we decided to get together at my house and make a craft. I have these balls that sit on my dinning room table as decoration that I made. The girls thought it would be fun to all make them. So we did. The balls are so time consuming to make but look so pretty when they are done. Plus we had fun just chatting and hanging out while making them.

You know you miss your husband when your joking with your friends that your ball looks like him. But look at my half finished ball....doesn't it look like Vic? LOL

Flowers

Vic sent me flowers on the day that he had been gone exactly one month. Just to say he misses us and Thank me for handling home so well. It was a really romantic gesture. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband!!! No wonder I miss him.

Seychells

Hello from Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. We got to visit the main island of the Seychelles Islands and they are beautiful. There wasn’t a lot to do but I am sure glad I brought my bike because there was plenty to see if you took a ride around the island. The people were friendly and speak mainly French Creole. It was a nice break but nothing like being home. Love and miss you all.

Picture was when we stopped at one of the beaches after the rain slowed down as you can see I am soaked but it was so nice there we ended up going about 17 miles on the bikes that day. As you can see the buses took up almost the whole road and we had to compete with them and others on that road.

Picture is of the sunset at Beau Vallon Bay on the North end of the island. They had huge fruit bats about four foot wing span. Very pretty warm all the time and humid.

Picture as we are taking a footpath to get around to the main road we spotted one of these huge spiders. This one was about the size of my hand outstretched and the little spiders you see around it are its babies.

Some of Vics buddies from his division and off the ship when they were eating dinner at a Chinese restaurant one night. Chinese in Africa......

Uncle's Birthday

While Uncle was here this weekend.....we celebrated his birthday. We went to Watermans on the oceanfront. We walked the boardwalk and watch Victoria dance to the bands. We came home and suprised Uncle with goodies and Victoria singing her best Happy Birthday. He also loved his gift.....a 3 year old portrait collection of Victoria!!

Botanical Gardens

Uncle Roger came to town last weekend. We had a great time hanging out, cooking, eating on the beach, and touring around. We can always find something fun to do in Virginia Beach. There is so much to see here. This time we went to the Botanical Gardens. He was very impressed on how pretty it was. We took a tram ride, a boat ride and enjoyed watching Victoria play in the water area of the WOW garden.

Computer Class

Computer class at school is Victoria's favorite part of the day. There is an outsourced company that comes in to teach the children. The teacher Mrs. Nancy takes them 3-4 at a time and by age. Victoris loves her computer class. She takes it once a week for one hour. Here she is learning to click and drag. Its amazing to me that a 3 year old can comprehend the computer so well.

Crossing the line ceremony

In the days of yore crossing the equator was a time honored tradition held by sailors to commemorate the occasion by cleansing a Slimy WOG (one who has not crossed the equator yet) via a ceremony held by Shellbacks(ones who have already been cleansed). Well as of today I am now an honored Shellback. I am including pictures of some of the fun that was had by all. Enjoy.

This is my Trident I drew to represent King Neptune and my worthiness to become an Honorable Shellback.

That stuff on me is water and food coloring and I am rolling around in it to clean the passageway as to not create a hazard for other Wogs.I have been singled out because one I am khaki and two because I was back talking because I wasn’t intimidated due to the fact that this was nothing compared to what I have been through in other “ceremonies”.

This is us after eating a hearty breakfast prepared by the royal chef. The girl to the left is Ingrid Candelaria a fellow Chief and the guy (yes I said guy) on the right is ASWO my division officer. Of course it is a wig. I think?! We are being cleaned by a 2.5” fire hose with saltwater. Very tasty.

Gymnastics

Victoria takes gymnastics class on Wednesday nights. We meet our friends Karen and Sophia there. Karen and I have been friends since freshman year of highschool and its so great that she and I both ended up in Virginia. Her daughter Sophia is only 2 days older then Victoria and they just love each other so much. Victoria refers to Sophia as her sister. Here are some picture of them at gymnastics. The pictures are so great since they run off to their gymnastics class and the moms are outside watching thru a small glass window. :) Its give us moms a fun time to chat and catch up though. I can't believe Victoria is already old enough to take a class alone.

Suez Canal

Victor is currently on deployment. He is getting to see so many different places. His ship went thru the Suez Canal. He sent some pictures. I thought you would enjoy seeing.

Scrapbook Convention

The big Scrapbooking Convention was today in Hampton. I went with my girl friend Gwen. We were there from 9am until 8pm. We took classes and got alot of scrapbooking done. There were over eleven hundred women there and I won the door prize. They had us all flip over our chairs and the chair with the tag "your a winner" on the bottom had to run up the the stage screaming!! It was me. I was pretty embarrassed but it was fun. Here I am holding my prize and my new scrapping shirt! What a fun girl day!!!

Preschool

Victoria is starting her first day of preschool on Wednesday. She will be in 3 year old preschool. She will go three days a week. She will also take dance and computer classes while there. Her teachers name is Miss Tiffany and she is so excited to get started. Here are some pictures of her in her room when we went to take a sneak peak.

Flat Daddy

Victoria got her Flat Daddy today. Its a life size picture of Vic on cardboard that can carried around anywhere. She LOVES it. We had to take it in the car with us today.
