Wicked 10k

Victor and Victoria ran the Wicked 10k on Halloween day this year. Its a 10k race at the ocean front where you dress up in costume and run. Victor dressed up as Sponge Bob and Victoria was Dorthy, They have a 1mile kids run too but we didn't get Victoria signed up quick enough. So I meant Vic at the 1mile mark and he grabbed Victoria and let her run to the finish line with him. She was so excited to receive a medal. He was a good sport and let her have it. She loves to run with daddy and her exact words were "I want to be just like my daddy" Amazing!

Pumpkin Carving 2009

So we thought we were doing a great job decorating these pumpkins! Mamaws turned out the best by doing it the old fashioned way....Vic and I got all fancy and used a dremel and the darn candles barely showed up! It was fun trying but next year I'm sticking with the good ole knife!

Daddy Birthday

Daddy's birthday was pretty low key this year. We thought originally he was going to be in St. Louis for a meeting so it was a great blessing that he was actually home. He had duty the night before his birthday so he came home early on Tuesday morning of his birthday. We had the house all decorated and all his gifts out. Victoria was so excited for him to get home and see his gifts. She helped me decorate and wrap this year. She was very proud of the book that she made for him. Her first "real" book she made and couldn't wait to give it to him. We took Victoria to school and then went to the movie. Since it was Vic's birthday he got to pick which movie we saw. He choose Paranormal Activity. I wasn't too scary since I had my eyes covered the whole time. But he loved it! Then we picked Victoria up from school along with Mamaw from work and went out to dinner at Outback. It was yummy and lots of fun.

DC Marathon

Vic ran the DC Marathon this year in 3.52 his new PR! What an exciting weekend we had. We headed up to DC alone on Friday night. Victoria stayed with Mamaw. We meant with friends Brent and Natasia. We went to the Expo on Saturday morning. Vic got to meet a his mentor.....Bart Yasso! We toured around DC a bit, went to a movie and had dinner on Sat night. Sunday morning Vic got up and went to the marathon with Brent. Natasia and I stayed back and meant them at the finish line. It was way to crowded to make it thru the race to see him. It was my first time manuevering around DC subways alone and I didn't feel comfortable. It was a great experience though and pretty easy so next year I am going to try and see him thru. He was overwhelmed at the end of the race. They are very emotional for him. Im so glad I get to be their to experience it with him.

Crabtree Falls

We went north about 3.5 hours to Crabtree Falls. The Woods family goes every year to the Graveyard apple orchard for their fall festival. So they invited us this year. We were so happy they did. The festival was complete with homemade Brunswick stew, apple donuts, apple butter and all kinds of homemade candy. The kids got to go on a hayride, climb staw barrels and pick apples. There were all kinds of booths of people selling crafts and I had fun making a few x-mas purchases. After that we went to Flippin Seemans to pick out own pumpkins off the vine. This was a very unique experience. We were so excited to get to actually pick our own grown pumpkins. We went into the apple factory and got to taste all the apples and see them being sorted. Next stop was Crabtree Falls. It was such a beautiful waterfall. One of the prettiest east of the Mississippi! Vic climbed 3 miles to the top of course!

Harvest Camping

Holiday Travel Park in Virginia Beach put on a Harvest Weekend everyweekend in the month of Oct. Its a blast. Everyone decorates their campsite. The kids trick or treat, have candy by flashlight hunts, a live DJ for dancing, hayrides, corn maze and a haunted house! Our campsite had 17 adults and 4 kids. Victoria was up until midnight everynight and had more junk food then she has had her whole life. It was a great weekend! It only took an hour to fill Walmart bag full of candy. She rode her bike, took turns on the golf cart, has smores by campfire and went in and out of our friends camper. We can't wait to do it again!
