Beach Day with Daddy

We are so excited to have daddy home. We took him to Fort Story Beach today. The weather was perfect. There were so many families at the beach today and we even had some visitors.....Dolphins. They were swiming back and forth past the blocked off swim area all day. We really enjoyed looking at them. Daddy buried Victoria deep in the sand. First it was just her legs then her whole body. They built sand castles, made tunnels and played in the water all day. We missed you Vic!!!

Kangaroo Jacs with Friends

Victoria, Nathaneal and Gabriel went to Kangaroo Jacs to jump today! Victoria had such a good time trying to keep up with the boys. They teach her so many fun things. They are 3 and 5 years old. We see so much of them as they just live the next street over from us. Thier mom Brenda is a wonderful friend to me. We love hanging out with them.

Beach Day with Mamaw

We found this really great beach just about 5 miles from our house. It is located on the Ft. Story Army Base. You have to be military to get to this beach which makes it pretty secluded. The views are beautiful as you can see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, Chics Beach, fishing boats and the Naval Ships passing by as they are coming in and out of port. The beach is open Memorial Day to Labor Day so we plan on spending many summer days there. Mamaw was off work so we came here to play and get some sun. It was a bit chilly today as it is very windy. It has been pretty cool here in Virginia Beach so far this year. But who can beat a day at the beach with the wind blowing on your face?

London

Vic had a great time touring around London with two of his friends Mike and Josh. His ship was docked in Plymouth, England and he took a 5 hour bus ride to London to tour around. He saw The Houses of Parliment, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Tower Bridge and The Millenium Ferris Wheel. It is from the Worlds Fair. It was quite an experience. He really enjoyed walking around and seeing all of these new places. London still has the double decker buses, the old fashioned cabs and the red phone booths.

Botanical Gardens

We went to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens today......Victoria made this picture on the tour we took of the Gardens. We also got to run in the water, touch the worms and ride a tram that looks like a Bee. That was Victoria's favorite part. The Gardeners even showed Victoria how to plant a seed and bring it home to watch it grow....We will keep you posted.

"Look Mama...I am holding a worm. I want to take it home" It took a little convincing that worms don't make good pets. :)

Story Book Tea

The Rec Center puts on this fun event called Story Book Tea. The kids bring their favorite stuffed animal and all sit to listen to a story. Then they do a craft pertaining to the story. The day ends with Tea Time where they have juice in Tea Cups and a cookie. Its really very cute. Victoria has a great time. Here are some pictures of her fun time.

Hibachi

Here are us girls....eating Hibachi at Wasabi restaurant in Norfolk for Moms Day. Victoria was very intrigued by the fire the chefs made but quickly put out. She kept saying..."oooh...look!"

Volcano made out of an onion. These chefs are really quite entertaining.

How funny is this picture? The chefs throw food in your mouth while they are cooking. My mom caught this shrimp in her mouth first shot!!!!

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day!!! We had such a great day together. We started out at church and then came home to open gifts. Mom got a red camera this year and was very excited. Victoria made me a planter which holds two pots of herbs. She made me cry when handing it to me while saying "Happy Mothers Day Momma" We then went and did a little shopping as we girls love to do. We ended the day at a yummy Hibachi dinner. I am so blessed to have my mom here in Virginia Beach with me. Us girls have a great fun together and laugh a lot. Of course we missed Vic but he made my day with a flower delivery of 2 dozen roses. Of course my wonderful Uncle Roger reminded us how special we are as well with a basket of muffins, coffee and gourmet jellies....which was oh so good!!!

Friends Birthday

Nathanael and Gabriel had their birthday party today. Victoria had a great time hitting the pinata, eatting cake, having her face painted and watching magic tricks from Isabelle the clown. She was exhausted after the long fun day. We are blessed to have such great friends....We love you all so much!!Nathaneal and Victoria with their pinata candy!!!

Victoria loves Lance. She cuddled up next to him to watch the clown.

Isabelle the clown......

Minnie Mouse Victoria

Victoria had her face painted like Minnie Mouse today at her friends Nathanael and Gabriels birthday party. She sat pretty still while Isabelle the clown put the makeup on. There was a book of faces to pick from and she was adament about becoming Minnie Mouse. But...she makes a cute Minnie Mouse. What do you think?

Back to the Bainbridge

Vic was flown in on a Helo from the USS Normandy to his ship the USS Bainbridge this week off the coast of Ireland. Here is a picture of him returning back on his ship.....We miss him!

Kiddie Pool

Victoria loves her new little kiddie pool. We put it up in our backyard on the decking for her to play in. I think I may like it even more then she does. I can lay out on the slide and let the sprinkler keep me cool as I lay out for a tan!!! She is really having a ball with it. She loves to slide down the slide, throw the ball in the tiger and "take a shower" in the palm tree sprinkler.

Swim Class

Victoria and I taking mommy and me swim classes at our local rec center. She loves to swim in the pool. The first day she was a little shy but now she is like a little fish or Nemo is what she says.

Here we are blowing bubbles. The object of this is to get the ping pong ball across the pool.

Jumping in.....

This is the whole class. We get in a circle and sing songs while doing "kickers, reach and pulls and bubbles" The kids are between the ages 1-3.

Childrens Festival

Victoria got to touch this monkey at the Childrens Festival in Hampton this weekend. It was a fun day with Mom, Mamaw and Victoria. There were all kinds of booths promoting other countries with crafts to do and food to eat. There were dancers who performed Irish Dance and Victoria was in awe as she watched the performers. She told me "I want to dance mama"
Victoria and Mamaw beading bracelets at the Indian Booth
Momma and Victoria making carcaones at the booth from Mexico .
We three girls.....Having so much fun!!!

Lowes Project

So today we are building a Squirrel Feeder for the Kids Project Day @ Lowe's. It's a fun quick project that Victoria is getting good at helping with. She can put nails in the pre-drilled holes and hammer them down. Today Mamaw came with us too. We can't wait to hang our feeder outside for the squirrels to eat. We have alot of squirrels in the front yard. Victoria and mamaw put crackers out for them often. So the feeder will just add to the excitement!!

Beach Girl

Victoria LOVES the beach. She calls it the big city because as we are driving down our road to the beach...she sees the big hotels. She loves to run in the waves as they come up the shore and run away screaming. When she falls down she gets right up and goes back in. The water is really cold. The surfers are all wearing wetsuits this time of year and she still runs right in. Its really fun to watch her.

Birdies

We went to a fun place called Birdies. They have different station of play for children to explore and pretend. In this section Victoria is playing construction. She used her goggles to drill and saw.

Teeter Totter for the first time. Victoria did not stop laughing as Gabriel pushed her up in the air. She couldn't quite figure out how to "push off" but she sure loved holding on for the ride.

Obsticle Course and inside playground. I need to get one of these at my house.
