Copper It Is

Victor and I just celebrated our 7th year of marriage. Hard to believe it has been that long. It's so exciting that we have had 7 great years that have just flown by. We really have grown so much over the past seven years. Mostly in our walks with the lord which has actually made us much stronger. We have learned to communicate, honor and appreciate each other more and more everyday. And we both know we can't do it alone. Our tradition every year is to give each other the gifts that correspond with the traditional gift giving list. This year the material was copper and/or wool. Vic gave me seven different gifts to represent the seven years. Each wrapped in copper and wool. I was really impressed with the time and thought that went into it. He is very romantic. I gave him a picture frame that I made out of pennies. We put a picture of us in it from our anniversary. It is always fun to see what each other comes up with knowing its the "same" gift but always different.

First Full Marathon

The Shamrock Marathon was this Sunday! Vic ran his first Marathon in 4 hours 28 minutes! I dropped him off at 6:30 am at the ocean front. His race started about 8am. He ran 26 miles thru Virginia Beach. We were happy to be able to cheer him on at mile marker 4, 10, 19 and 23. We were so proud of him. About mile 19 he started feeling it. He started to hit "the wall". That is runners lingo for your body shutting down. He had a 3 mile uphill at mile 19 to 22 so that is when it happened. But he just had some gels, drank down his electrolytes from his runners belt and he was off to the finish! Enjoy the pictures!

Cheer squad...Victoria made Daddy a sign. Mamaw ringing the cowbell!

Short Visit

Uncle Roger was in town for a two night two day visit. We were in the middle of all of our plumbing problems so there were contractors in and out. Victoria was in the middle of a nasty virus and a double ear infection and.....Uncle was in the middle of trying to get grades out for his class at Purdue. Needless to say...we were all a little busy. We had big plans while he was here to attend the air and space museum and have dinner at the beach. Plans took a turn but we still enjoyed seeing each other. Uncle got to play some game with Victoria and we cooked a few yummy meals! Its always nice when we just get to hang out anyway. Besides....Uncle is Lolli's favorite person!

Gardening with Mamaw

Today was such a beautiful day in Virginia Beach. Mamaw and Victoria took advantage of our beautiful spring weather. They re-potted a plant and planted some flowers in our backyard garden. Victoria loves to help mamaw with EVERYTHING she does....Chia the bird even got to enjoy the weather!

Little Helper

Daddy installed a new shower door in our bathroom today. Victoria was right in there trying to drill and caulk. I am always amazed at how patient Vic is in allowing her to help! She even put on her hard hat and gloves for the occasion! The end result is beautiful...I am so thankful for a shower door....No more shower curtain. Yuck!
