OC Spray

Day 170 OC, OC!!!
It has been a little over a year since I have been sprayed with OC but I still remember it vividly. It is a requirement for us to experience the effects of it before we are allowed to carry it. I have no doubt in my mind that it hurts and that somebody can fight through it after you spray them. I didn’t need the exposure to it to understand that. I didn’t need to get shot before I carried a 9mm or an M-16 so why do I have to get a face full of OC? I will give credit to the person doing the spraying today, Chief Meza. He made sure everybody received a full dose of the nasty stuff. Only one or two people walked through without much on them. There were a few times that most of the group ended up with just a few drops on their forehead. You can view a video of my training at: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9053918505297285858&q=OC+Spray&hl=en People react differently to the pepper spray. For some it doesn’t start to bother them until they start the decontamination process while other it will bring them to their knees as soon as they try to open their eyes. Either way the purpose of the training is to show you that you are able to fight through any possible cross contamination if you have to spray somebody. It also gives you a good idea of who you want armed up and protecting you. Some people will let the OC win but some will get into the combat mindset going out there beating up on the bag holders and showing no mercy for the Red Man.
